“Junkyard Jim’s” Eastern NC BBQ Sauce

Ironically enough, this recipe for Eastern NC BBQ sauce was developed in Northern VA… I guess you can say we’re missing the great state of NC a bit! If you are at all familiar with North Carolina, then you know that the vinegar vs. tomato based BBQ debate is almost as serious as college football.

There are several different variations of this BBQ sauce that we’ve experimented with, but today I’m going to share my favorite- the Brown Sugar + Garlic version! This one has been the biggest hit by far, and is the sauce used in the Crockpot Pulled Pork recipe!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup White Vinegar
  • 1 cup Apple Cider Vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Brown Sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Frogbone Cajun Seasoning (you can use other cajun seasonings, but I recommend Frogbone!)
  • 1 tablespoon of Minced Garlic
  • 1 tablespoon Red Pepper Flakes
  • Dash of Oregano
  • Dash of freshly ground Black Pepper

You basically just combine all of these ingredients and BAM- Junkyard Jim’s Eastern NC Brown Sugar and Garlic BBQ Sauce! Enjoy!
