Light Baked Brie

This Baked Brie is one of my favorite recipes! I know, I say that a lot- but this is. so. good. It’s one of my favorite dishes to make for happy hour or as an appetizer for literally any gathering. Every time I make this dish, it’s completely gone by the end of the night- and yes I’m including happy hour with one other person in this statement! In the rare event that there is any leftover, it makes an awesome “breakfast of champions!” Another huge plus is that this dish is only three ingredients and it literally takes all of 60 seconds of prep time. This recipe comes out to right at 200 calories for 1/6 of the circle of Brie- this is assuming you use Sugar-Free Jelly.

Ingredients

  • 1 circle of Brie cheese. I prefer the “light” version- it tends to make the final product less greasy and has 50% less fat and 30% less calories than the regular Brie.
  • 1 tube of crescent rolls. Again, I prefer the light version which is only 90 calories a serving.
  • Your jam or dried fruit of choice. My favorite to use is the Mixed Berry Jam that we make from scratch. Low sugar Dried Cranberries are a close second. You could use sugar-free jelly as another healthy alternative.
  • Optional: Parsley

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F
  2. Open your crescent rolls and place on a baking sheet, keeping it in one piece.
  3. Cut Brie circle in half, hamburger style.
  4. Spread jam or dried fruit on one half. The amount you use is personal preference, I use about 4 tablespoons of jam. You’ll need more than you think since it gets masked a little with the melted cheese.
  5. Sandwich the two Brie halves together, keeping the jam in the middle.
  6. Place your cheese sandwich in the middle of the crescent roll sheet.
  7. Fold the crescent roll sheet over your Brie
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until the top is golden brown
  9. Optional: Garnish with parsley
